Dear Members of the Board,

Thank you for hearing my concerns regarding the proposed Great Harbor Yacht Club pier system. As proposed the placement of this system would inhibit access to the current channel and mooring field. This is a vital area to many boaters, fisherman, scallopers and water enthusiasts. Also, please remember, the current placement of the aviation fuel line was a result of past concerns regarding blockage to the channel and mooring field. It was shortened from its original length so that access to the channel would not be compromised. It is stated in our town bylaws, Chapter 137-6 C, Mooring, buoys, lobster pots, crab pots, eel pots or other obstacles that will cause or create a hazard to navigation shall not be placed in areas usually used as channels for navigation. I do not believe there is a way to incorporate this pier system without negatively affecting the channel and blocking access to the southerly anchorage area as well as the displacement of many presently located moorings. Thank you for regarding my concerns.

Sincerely,

Kenneth F. Aguiar
